The need for a paid plan depends on a workflow constraint, not trading seniority. Studying one chart and monitoring several markets require different tools.

Name the limitation first
Decide whether you need more simultaneous charts, more price alerts, or deeper intraday history. Then compare plans that solve that specific problem.

These are price-alert counts, not a combined allowance for indicator or strategy alerts. The history figures concern intraday data; daily and higher intervals follow their available-history rules.
Backtesting needs a separate check
Chart-loaded bars and Deep Backtesting history are different. Deep Backtesting is currently available on Premium and higher plans, subject to product and data availability.
More observations do not resolve missing data, session definitions, costs, or look-ahead bias. Decide whether export is necessary for the work you actually do.
Check exchange data access too
A charting subscription and an exchange’s real-time data entitlement can be separate. Check delayed versus real-time access, professional status, and additional exchange charges for the instrument.
Starting free and upgrading when a measurable limitation appears is a reasonable workflow. A higher tier does not establish strategy quality or profitability.
