A 16.99 example in actual-cost mode

All values are hypothetical. Select long and actual costs. Margin 1,001, leverage one, entry 100.10 and exit 101.90 produce quantity ten.

Cost inputValue
Entry fee0.5005
Exit fee0.5095
Funding expense0

Price P&L 18 minus fees 1.01 gives net 16.99 USDT. Enter funding paid as +1 and funding received as −1 in this tool. Distinguish unknown blanks from confirmed zero costs. See the full calculation and double-counting check.

Reconcile the position and the net result

  1. Entry notional: margin 1,001 × leverage 1 = 1,001 USDT.
  2. Base-asset quantity: 1,001 ÷ entry price 100.10 = 10.
  3. Gross P&L for the long: 10 × (101.90 − 100.10) = 18 USDT.
  4. Costs to deduct: entry fee 0.5005 + exit fee 0.5095 + funding paid 0 = 1.01 USDT.
  5. Net P&L before tax: 18 − 1.01 = 16.99 USDT.

Actual-cost mode uses the fee amounts you enter. Do not deduct fees again using the preset percentages. The displayed return on entry notional is 16.99 ÷ 1,001 × 100 ≈ 1.70%. Margin and entry notional are equal in this example because leverage is 1. With a different leverage setting, those denominators differ.

How to use

For estimated costs, select an exchange and maker or taker for each fill. For actual costs, enter fees and funding from your trade records. Entry notional equals margin × leverage; leverage is not applied a second time to fees.

Scope and assumptions

For linear USDT contracts. Exchange fee presets are reference values for calculation convenience; actual fees vary by account tier, maker/taker status, discounts and product conditions. For realized P&L, prioritize actual fills, trading fees and funding from your trade records. Liquidation mechanics, taxes and other account-specific costs are outside this calculation.

You can enter a funding amount, but the tool does not forecast future funding from a rate and holding period or import exchange records. It also does not combine partial fills. Prepare the average fill prices, total quantity and aggregate costs yourself. There is no slippage input. When using actual fill prices, avoid deducting the same execution-price difference again as a separate cost. Spot, stocks, options and coin-margined inverse contracts are outside the supported scope. Check the product’s multiplier, currency and tax treatment separately.
